VOCALISTS: HAVE YOU ASKED YOURSELVES???
Where do I learn to read and write music?
How do I notate a song I wrote?
What is modulation/key change?
How do I figure and transpose keys?
How can I write out the music to a song I sing/hear?
How do I find the sheet music to a song?
What is a fakebook?
How do I learn to notate rhythm?
What is the best way to work on pitch and intonation?
How do I count off the tempo to a song?
How do I know when do come in?

Here I would like to communicate with vocalists about their concerns are in relation to performing.
I was recently the host bassist at a jam session for vocalists in NYC, and was touched by the enthusiasm in which the different singers participated. At the same time, I was taken back by the amount of discomfort I sensed in almost everyone’s performance.
I would like to hear what people have to say about their experiences when performing, both good and bad, professional and amateur.
I also felt that many of the problems the singers were having could have been avoided with three or four hours of training.
